About

WHO WE ARE

We are ecologists, wildlife biologists, silviculturist, engineers, environmentalists, archeologists, farmers, ranchers, professors, and historians.

Together, we form the Brevelle Conservation Trust (BCT) to provide diverse habitat conservation programs, protection of Native American heritage sites, sustainable forestry, and wildlife conservation.

OUR MISSION

To protect in perpetuity the diverse fish and wildlife habitat, as well as, historical and cultural heritage sites located in Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

These areas include heritage sites for the Caddo Indians, early French explorers, and Creoles.

OUR HISTORY

The BCT was formed by the merging of the La Louisiane Land Trust (est. 1968) and the Evangeline Conservancy (est. 1982). The new entity was named after Jean Baptiste Brevel, one of the first explorers that helped establish and grow the La Louisiane colony in the early 18th century.

BCT focuses its work on privately owned lands to create innovative solutions to conservation challenges that benefit both the landowner, wildlife, and the community at large while preserving the cultural history of the area.

BCT has been recognized for providing economically and environmentally sustainable conservation programs.
